Overview

  • Government : Republic / Monarchy

They are and always have been a ruled by a king. Currently King Dinythran rules. Their past was always one of seclusion but recently with the urges to move outland, King Dinythran decided it best to move his government towards a republic of sorts. He created the “Grey Council” where 8 others hold a seat (only greybeards). They are two Lord Generals (leaders of the army), two Lord Sages (head wizards of the clan), the Lord Magistrate (head judge of Gabilgathol), the Lord Templar (head healer of Gabilgathol) and two Master Craftsmen. These 8 are an advisory council to the King in all decisions.

General Description

Or the “Great Fortress” as the dwarven translation goes is the dwarven stronghold. Set on one of the highest peaks in the Buzundush mountain range this massive structure only begins above ground as a great gate with towers to protect the entrance to the city below from enemy attacks overland. As expected these lower levels hide the great minerals of the earth of which the dwarves mine everyday. Their city is a site to see to those that could never imagine something as grand as this under the earth. Zirakinbar was erected on the surface right above the entrance to Gabilgathol to prevent any enemies from threatening the city below. It was made of pure silver from the mountain mines. An enormous wall with various tower defenses to prevent the largest of giants from entering.

  • Post War History

Much of the ancient wall drawing were lost during the Great War, but some remain. They mostly explain how the dwarven king saved his people from the evil elves and their minions after being trapped beneath the surface by some foul magic. The dwarves that rebuilt this great underground city are a hardy folk. The managed to fight a never ending battle for nearly 150 years without ever seeing the light of day. Their numbers are not great. Maybe 500 in total now populate the city below and the surface defenses. The Dwarves have an urge to move out from their subterranean lair that is one of the reasons for their war with the barbarians as the dwarves try to expand their surface lands and also see if any elves of the world still remain. It is the same reason they came to an agreement with the people of Lothran.
