The Market

Can we get 4 stalls into the market? If not we can reduce the number of traders :P

The Butcher Stall – sells game meat bought in by hunters. This stall will buy game meat bought in by PCs and will have a ‘gather’ Quest – Once per game week each pc will be able to take a quest to collect ?20? units of a specific and dangerous to acquire meat that is considered a delicacy – return it to the market trader for a small XP and GP reward.

The Green Grocer – Local farmers and gatherers fetch in fresh herbs and vegetables to sell. This stall will buy plants (berries, mushrooms etc) bought in by PCs and will have a ‘gather’ Quest – Once per game week each pc will be able to take a quest to collect ?50? units of a specific mushroom that is considered to be a delicacy – return it to the market trader for a small XP and GP reward.

The Provisions store – sells prepared/special foods, jam, honey, bread, eggs etc etc. This stall will buy ‘prepared’ foods bought in by PCs and will have a ‘gather’ Quest – Once per game week each pc will be able to take a quest to collect ?40? difficult to get at eggs that are considered to be a delicacy – return it to the market trader for a small XP and GP reward.

The General store – sells (Non magical) items made locally by small time crafters. Here you can buy clubs, quarterstaffs, belts, boots, cloaks, Tunics, walking sticks, wooden shields, leather bottles etc. It sells all the small everyday stuff that people make to earn a few extra coppers. This stall will buy minor crafted items bought in by PCs and will have a ‘gather’ Quest – Once per game week each pc will be able to take a quest to collect ?25? units of a rare wood that can be used to make particularly classy items and furniture delicacy – return it to the market trader for a small XP and GP reward.

Boriuna Majent (Female Human) is the market Master - She oversees sales and sells small game / hunting/trapping/gathering gear.. ie slings, sling stones and traps suitable for hunters (ie spike traps or tangle traps) baskets knives. She doesn’t have a stall, but has a couple of baskets with stuff over in the corner of the market … She also buys skins and will have a ‘gather’ type quest for people to go collect a particularly dangerous type of animal hide (maybe Tasmanian Tiger tail-skin makes superb cloaks although the rest of the skin is too manky to make anything good out of?). Boriuna also has a second ‘private’ store which sells more advanced traps and thieves tools 'under the counter'.


The five traders are source of the basic ‘gather’ quests. In each case the PC can get a little extra gold and experience by going out to find a commodity that the town needs. However, there has to be some control of the quests - and we could (perhaps) only make them available to a PC once every game week (?Month?) or we could restrict it to once every server reset – or once every (real life) day

(basically - quests that are available to the on a regular basis? Or something similar - small amount of gold, small amount of XP – ie a set of RP type quests that can be farmed– or, to put it another way, WORK!) PCs will be able to sell goods outside those quests - but extra points for actually working :P

Boriuna is special - she is the Market Master (in charge of the market for the local council) she reports back to the Civil Legate on a part time basis. She is is also a senior member of the ‘Rogues Alliance’ which is an informal understanding between Boriuna, Jemester from the Pawn Shop and Delingus Bucktooth from The Den. The three all have separate business interests - but they ‘scratch each others backs’ and share customers.
